Luke and I go to this really beautiful gym that's right next door. It's up on the 4th floor and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. There are about 5 treadmills, 5 eliptycal machines, some bikes and your basic free weights and machines. It's really all the basic stuff that we need.
My starting weight is 115. I'm about 5'4" so it's not a bad weight at all but I would prefer to be down to about 111.
Today I just ran on the treadmill at a speed of 5.8 for 20 minutes and then walked at 3.7 with a 2.5 incline for 25 minutes. In the future I would like to be able to run for 25 minutes at a speed of 6.1.
My motivation today was some good music and the newness of it all!

Day 1 of a Lifestyle Change
Happy 2010! The most popular new years resolution is to get in shape or at least eat healthier. I'm about to jump on that bandwagon and try to stay motivated. I've always thought that having a resolution that was too big usually ends up not being a success. So, my fiance and I have decided to blog about our experience and hopefully inspire or at least motivate some people out there.
Basically Luke and I are both healthy people but we want to be more toned and feel better about ourselves. In the past we have both been dedicated to exercise routines that eventually faded away. Luke is pretty much great at any sport he's ever played and although I wouldn't classify myself as an "athlete" I have done non-teamworking (haha) activities like horseback riding and cross-country skiing.
This blog is going to be for all of you who aren't just overweight but want to look better and feel good about yourselves. We'll both talk about our highs and lows of working out, staying motivated and eating right. Hopefully this blog will keep us both accountable and we can ring in 2011 with our hot bods!
Oh, so this is supposed to start today? Whooops, was at a New Years Eve party a little too late last night and didn't quite make it out of the house yet :)
